The instructor will remind them to breathe. Although it seems easy, your lifeblood is breathing. When your mind drifts—perhaps picturing pizza toppings mid-session—it’s the tether that grounds you.

Think about making a decent mat investment. Underfoot, you do not want a slick battlefield. Search for something that captures your attention more than that too exuberant friend’s handshake.

And here’s an advise: don’t treat matters too seriously. Yoga is about practice rather than posturing. Not sure the posture names are correct. You have nothing to worry about. The actual difficulty is juggling a smile with a stable stance.

Online lessons can be your refuge if entering a studio seems too much. Only you and maybe a perplexed pet trying to reflect your stretches in front of no audience. Not too long from now, “Namaste” starts to define your vocabulary.

Yoga’s benefits start to show up like sunbeams through curtains. One becomes more flexible and anarchy finds peace. Yoga seems like a smooth sail some days, then like a crazy rollercoaster.
